Things that make me laugh

Posted by The Red Devil on Saturday, March 17, 2012 in , ,
I wonder if the kitten waited in a corner for the guys to lay the cement down and leave before it decided to "vandalize" the block?

Now this made me laugh because it was both absurd and pathetic. Why does everything need to have an i as the first letter of the word to make it look "cool". I don't understand the logic behind it. Why call it an iMop? Will it tweet automatically for you when you're mopping the floor to let your followers know that you're domesticated? Will it search the internet for a better cleaning product to use on it? Does it measure the DNA that it gathers from the floor and analyze your information to determine if you're sick, allergic to something or pregnant? If it just cleans the goddamn floor, don't hype it up.

Pinaka winner ang tagline. Parang ayokong maging 40+....

What Dafuq?

I'm a smoker. I know it's not good for me and I know what it does to the body. I don't deny it. However, I also do not encourage it. I don't judge people who smoke either. Hey, whatever you want to do to your body, right?

However, it bothers me when I see things like this:

What message are we trying to send the kids when companies are allowed to come out with products like this? Are we saying that smoking is cool. Are we encouraging them to go ahead and emulate smoking? Candy cigarettes. Seriously.

The kids got this as a present for Christmas. It's really sweet and cute...until you read what's written...

Err... What exactly is a benediction? And Benediction you friend? Does this mean I have to bless my friend or will my friend have to bless me? Or is my friend's name Benedict?

Ah... This box knows me too well...

I will never see subwoofers the same way again...

Twitter is my source of entertainment

Posted by The Red Devil on Thursday, February 02, 2012 in , ,
The thing with being online most of the time (for work, not for anything else) is that you can get bored with the repetitive tasks that you do. We all have to find some sort of entertainment to help us retain whatever little sanity we have left. Me? I get my kicks by reading the Twitter descriptions of people. I end up making comments that have me in stitches for a long time. Thought I'd share some with you. Text in italics are my comments.

I DONT MEAN TO BE REMEMBERED CONSTANTLY.....but I HATE TO BE FORGOTTEN ETERNALLY... - Paano pag may amnesia?

I Love Badminton I Love Basketball I Love Swimming I Love Skate But For You My The Best Is I Love You ! - You don't love punctuations, obviously and you love capitalizing every first letter of a word.

cute sweet naughty but nice humble as my friends say strict (sometimes) playful (sometimes) stubborn - Schizoid ka?

❤ ...yOu dOn't have tO Love me, yOu dOn't even haVe tO Like me. But, yOu wiLL Respect ME! ^_^ ❤ - Pilitin ba ako?! At parang may issue ka with the letter O...

im not a perfect lover ! ♥ - There are things that we don't broadcast...

Judge me and I'll prove u wrong,Tell me what to do and I'll tell u off,say I'm not worth it and watch where I end up..call me a bitch and I'll show u one! - er... ooookay...

It does'nt mean you're losing, everybody's bruisin', just be true to who you are. :) - Apostrophes are very confusing, isn't it?

born with glitter in my veins *-* - Sakit yan...pagamot ka.

I'm the guy that will change you. :') - Ay! Plastic surgeon ka?

Forever is not a word...rather a place where two lovers go when true love takes them there. - Magkano pamasahe?

The good thing about me is being ME. - err... congrats? Good for you!
~Dear whoever is reading this, you're beautiful and someone out there is crazy about you. So smile. Life is too short to be unhappy.~ - So far, this is the BEST one I've read.

That, my son, was smooth and intelligent

Posted by The Red Devil on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in , , ,
There are several things that you have to consider when you're dating inter-racially. The biggest hurdle really is culture. There are a lot of differences, no matter how "western" or "open-minded" you are, these differences will present themselves. It's a matter of working through the differences and struggles together.

Dating inter-racially becomes a bit more complex when you've got kids. I never really thought about how much this would change my children's perceptions until yesterday when my older son wanted to buy a toy.

He said he wanted to buy a Pegasus. A pink Pegasus at that. With purple hair and yellow wings.

Uh-huh.

"Are you sure you want that?"

"Yes, mommy"

"Why?"

"Because she will be the girlfriend of my chipmunk, Alvin"

"You do know that Alvin's a chipmunk and this is a Pegasus, right? They're...different"

He then looks at me with an are you kidding me? look and says, ever so nonchalantly "Pops is different from you but you're together."

...err... I can't argue with that, so I put the pink Pegasus in the basket and gave him a huge smile and a kiss on the head. I was so proud of him already when he lay another one on me.

"Besides, if I'm going to pick a wife for my chipmunk, I want her to be beautiful. Just like you, mommy"

Go ahead...do it... "AAWWW......"

Sige lang anak. Kunin mo kung ano ang gusto mo, lahat yan, bibilhin ni mommy...

Things that make me happy

In college, I was part of the De Buang Familia - a bunch of intelligent ladies who actually had a life. LOL! It's so refreshing to know that I have friends that have lasted for 15 years. Sayang wala si Mela and Mona.

The nice thing about having a front lawn or a backyard is that we can pitch a tent and "camp"

My little chef! He always loves helping me out inn the kitchen. :)

My Princess made a sign to put on the wall when she sleeps. It cracked me up!

That's my girl... :D

A letter to my children

Posted by The Red Devil on Monday, October 10, 2011
Learn from my mistakes my children. If anything, make me the perfect example of what not to do.

In this world, there are a lot of people that you wouldn't get along with. That's okay so long as you also try to see beyond the hard exterior of each person and try to find that one thing that makes them special because everyone has a good quality. Remember that there are reasons and necessities behind every action. Don't pass judgement so quickly until you know exactly what went on.

Expand your horizons. Explore what this wonderful world has to offer. Enjoy that moment where you're swimming with the sharks in Donsol or maybe memorize the way that real Parisian coffee soothes your throat as you sip it while you're at a nice cafe on Champs Elysee. Learn from other people and open yourself to different cultures. True enlightenment comes from accepting and respecting other people's beliefs whether they contradict your own or not.

Be careful with what you say. Words are dangerous weapons and they have the most impact. You can never take back anything you've said and you can never undo the effect of the words you say - be it positive or negative. There are things you can never make up for, even with a million apologies.

Love with all that you've got. You may risk getting hurt but if you hold back in love, you may never truly experience the real beauty of love. Your heart and your mind should work together and one shouldn't overpower the other. Learn when to let go and when to fight for what's worth keeping.

Life is indeed too short. It's okay to be cautious and to prepare for the future but don't forget to enjoy today. Dance, sing, play! It doesn't matter if you're 4 or 48. If you feel like playing hopscotch or hide and seek, go ahead and do it! Watch a lot of funny movies. Don't stop watching cartoons. And don't forget to help other people enjoy each day too. Remember that even the smallest of actions, if done with the best intentions and the purest of hearts can make a huge difference to that other person.

I may not be the best parent in the world. Goodness knows that I've made terrible mistakes (like combining your medications when I shouldn't have). But there's nothing more than I would love than to see you live your lives the way you want to. Doesn't matter what you want to be, I know you'll be the best at it.

So learn from my mistakes, my beautiful children. I know you'll make your own and you'll learn from them the way I did from mine. Be comforted in the fact that even if you don't want me or need me, I will always be here for you.

Err...I'm confused and titillated at the same time...

Eww... One of my biggest pet peeves are ill-fitted shoes. Ewan ko pero diring diri talaga ako pag may nakikita akong toes na lumalampas sa shoes.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I love these moments when you make a correction and mali ka pa rin. Parang yung isang artista na kilala ko na ang alam niya sa penguin ay isa itong mammal. (Actress shall remain unnamed to protect her)

OMG. I get this almost on a daily basis with some customers. It's like they don't understand that magic does not exist!

Minsan mapapaisip ka din eh, kung ikaw ba eh magtratrabaho or magapakulong na lang. LOL!

Things that make me smile and laugh

These are some things that make me smile and laugh. In this crazy world, we should know how to just stop, chill, enjoy the moment and have a good belly laugh.

AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
Apparently, this is a real life Timon and Pumbaa. Not sure how real this is but it's pretty awesome.

This made me laugh so hard. Honga naman di ba?

During the rains, the kids were so bored (Now I understand what my mom and Nanie went through when I was younger and I declared "I'm bored") So, we recycled crayons. The kids loved shaving the crayons and breaking them up.

Of course I think the real thrill here was that they were making a huge mess and that it was allowed.

Love the colors!
This is our finished product. Good luck kung ano mang kulay ang puedeng lumabas dyan.

We also made crayon tarts.

And now, the best photo, in my opinion is this. My little man, growing up and taking responsibility. Sipag ni kuya! After nito, nag mop naman sya ng floor. :)

Every day is a great day. Just remember the transformers. :D

The worms are getting smarter. LOL! My suggestion is that the birds should just sleep in.

Err... I'm confused... Is this a philosophical thing or what?

Well, this didn't make me laugh but I want to do this! How quaint!

Upcycling Project - hard case purse

Posted by The Red Devil on Thursday, September 29, 2011 in , , , ,
Decided to make new stuff from the old stuff that I had lying around the house. I'm trying to encourage the kids to find new purpose in their old toys or things so that they can also express their creativity and do their part in recycling or upcycling. It's never too early to teach the kids the importance of saving the planet.

I had this little Disney Princess case that I picked up from Uniwide a long time ago for about 20 pesos or something. The only problem was that I can't get rid of the green sticker and it was very unsightly. So, my Princess and I decided to give it a new look instead.

First, we taped over the metal clasp. We don't want to paint it or cover it with anything so we had to protect it. You can do this with any hard case purse or bag. I like the ones from Papemelroti but they're pretty enough on their own that I don't bother changing it.
Next, we gathered old magazines and started snipping pictures or words that we fancied. This will be the new "cover" of our purse. Since I am in the entertainment industry, I thought it was apt (and also very tongue in cheek) to use photos of classic movies and photos of actors I look up.

After snipping the photos, just put them in one corner and make your PVA or Decoupage glue. To make this, use one part water with two parts glue. I use the normal Elmer's white glue. Brush the surface you're putting your photos on and stick the picutre and give the surface another brush or two. Repeat until all photos are used and the surface is covered. If you want, you can also paint the little spaces that can't be covered. I'd suggest using different colors and use nail polish too! It's shiny and it dries fairly quickly and it's waterproof. See, another use for nail polish!

This is the front of my new hard case purse. I have Maricel Soriano there (super love her), a still photo of Insiang with Hilda Koronel, the Burlesk Queen and Himala poster (I thought it was apt since ate Guy is making a comeback), Agot Isidro (so classy!) and Venus Raj.

Here's what I have at the back - Lady Gaga, Rio Locsin, Angel Aquino (love her to death!), the promo photo of A very Special Love and You changed my life. The quote is from that chick who plays Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl (dunno her name but I thought the quote was cool)

This is something very easy (although it's a bit messy) to do. My little Princess and I loved doing it and she now has a new case for her toys too! Now, she wants to make journals out of recycled materials. :D

Things that make me smile

Posted by The Red Devil on Sunday, September 25, 2011 in , , , , ,
Gay dogs make me giggle. Landing doggie itong si Potpotski.

To converse with THE Mark Gil is an honor enough but for him to praise my acting, yun na! Todo na yun! Puede na akong mamatay...pero wag naman.

To see Dave with Robin Padilla makes me smile. The two most gentlemanly individuals I have ever met in the same room together? Yeah....that's bliss.
To have the opportunity to work with Pen Medina is a great honor. Tay, salamat sa mga tawanan natin sa set. Sa susunod na project ulit. :)

Jeffrey Tam is a dream client. We did his website jeffreytammagic.com. He's so talented, humble and sincere.

Being with my babe is always a happy time.

Going to museums with the kids and seeing them enjoy learning is always a gratifying and satisfying time.

Seeing the kids enjoy their new Angry Birds watches make me smile.

And little boys that turn a pail into a makeshift bathtub makes me giggle.
