I've never been one to deny my heritage. I'm proud to say that I'm a mix of different races and I'm even quick to point out my lineage - though it may not be a smart thing to do so, seeing that my ancestor is the Chinese pirate Limahong. However, I've never been more embarrassed to admit my Chinese heritage until now.
Chip Tsao passes himself off as a writer for a magazine. On odd days, he passes himself off as a human being. On bank holidays, he passes himself off as a degenerate.
The cruel truth is that we do have a majority of our countrymen working as domestics all over the world. It's a known fact as well that a lot of our women work as nannies, maids, secretaries and even as prostitutes. I'm not going to fucking deny that. I respect these people. They work and they work hard. (Pun intended for the prostitutes) What irks me though is that this Chinese noodle had to freaking generalize Filipinos.
Oh yes, Mr. Tsao. Lea Salonga is a maid, a slave to Broadway and Disney. Arnel Pineda is a servant to Journey and rock music. Fernando Amorsolo, Leandro Locsin, Ishmael Bernal, Lino Brocka, The Jabbawockeez, Monique Lhuillier, Nick Joaquin, Jessica Hagedorn, Carlos Romulo, Lydia de Vega, Joey Ayala, Paeng Nepomuceno and the list goes on - they're servants. Nice perspective there asshole. Then again, I can't blame you as your eyes don't really go wide, do they?
