He looks at me like I'm clearly joking. "You've got a lousy childhood"
"Yeah? Apparently yours hasn't ended yet."
"Seriously, you've got to loosen up."
"And you've got to grow up. You're almost pushing forty dude."
He grins, the enviable grin I want to smack right off his face because it's too bright that it can light up a small island in the Pacific. "Forty is the new ten, didn't you get the memo?"
If there were a desk right in front of me, my head would be meeting it with such astounding force.
