Anything ex related is always messy and about 15 kinds of awkward. It's weird and it won't be as comfortable as you'd wish it could be. It will, but there are certain lines you don't cross at certain points of time.
For example, you don't joke around with your recent ex as if nothing has changed. Don't try to make it all cool and okay when it's really awkward. Relish in the awkwardness. You won't get rid of that awkwardness easily. Give it 2 years at the minimum. Two: you can't give your ex any relationship advice especially if it's unsolicited. That's just plain ass dumb. Oh wait...that's exactly what she did! Why am I not surprised?
I'm not judging you, sweetheart (well, not much at least) because the Powers that Be know that I'm a lost cause when it comes to relationships, but I do follow the protocol and I do try, as much as possible, to not make a jackass out of myself and make it look like I'm hungry and desperate for publicity or attention.
