Saturday Flash Fiction #1 - Yellow Bug
He picked me up from the airport in a bright yellow VW Beetle. Seeing the bug sandwiched between a Suburban and a Beemer makes me all giddy and illicits a laugh from me. He pulls at a curb and steps out of the driver side, as bright and shiny as the paint of his steed.
I rush to his open arms, throwing my bags to the sides; ecstatic to be engulfed in his warmth. I jump at him and he skillfully catches me, wrapping his arms around my waist while I wrap my legs around his.
"I missed you" He whispers in my hair.
"I noticed." I replied. I knew at that point that I'd be alright.
