In the beginning. (Supernatural Season 4 Episode 3)

Sam fanatics would have to sit this episode out. Although the entire episode does revolve around him and is about him, his physical presence is all about 18 seconds.

Let's start with the acting. Jensen Ackles nailed Dean here to the T! The old wisecracking jerkazoid Dean that we've loved has finally returned. The first two episodes were more of making Dean feel more comfortable with the idea that he has returned from hell. In this episode, we can safely assume that he has accepted it and is now ready to kick some demon ass. The only problem is, coming back from hell has also made Dean *gasp* more emotional.

Two, it's a roller coaster ride of an episode. I have found myself gasping, laughing, screaming NO! in different emotions (shock, disbelief and fear) and crying at different points in time. You can't be ready for this episode. Hats off to the writers!

Third, this episode gives you an opportunity to see who John really was and how this entire family is connected to Azazel from the get go. It will all make sense.

Fourth, damn that Castiel. He's freaking creepy.

Looks like this eppy will also see a lot of Youtube postings. The lines that Jensen delivers, only the way Dean/Jensen can, will find its way to Supernatural/TV history even immortality. My favorites so far are:

"Are you allergic to giving straight answers?"

"I'm going to hell...again"

"My dad can see the future."

A lot of questions were answered on this episode as well. I think I've made a post about it before (something about Mary Winchester). Viewers will also be pleased to find out how Dean and Sam got their names. (Although I think Dean wasn't too amused)

My suggestion is that you watch this with lots of tissue at bay. Dude, even if you were full of testosterone, you can't help but shed a couple of lactic jewels. One particular scene was that tender moment between mother and son.

Plus, I guarantee that you'd be saying "Oh no, no, no...." at the end of the episode.

P.S.

I apologize to Eric Kripke. I have been misspelling your name forever. Please do not take away Supernatural from me...
