Hoax-susmaryosep!
After typing a response in my shoutbox, I realized that I had a lot to say.
First off, thank you for pointing out that I should have researched Art Bell, PDI, etc, to figure out if it were a hoax or not. However, I am NOT a reporter and I have license to make mistakes. I do not know you Kim but thanks for the concern.
Secondly, if Art Bell was used as the person who supposedly created this letter out of someone's very livid imagination, then there is still that "letter writer" to hunt out. Someone wrote that letter and that someone is very much anti Filipino. If that someone turns out to be Filipino him/herself then it simply means he/she hates being Filipino and should migrate to another country, have all his blood siphoned out and replaced with another foreign blood and change his/her appearance with extensive and exhaustive plastic surgery. If this was his idea of sarcasm and cynicism, he/she missed his mark by a thousand miles.
Third, I'd like to apologize to Mr. Art Bell. I'm sorry he's used and I'm sorry that this letter is still making the rounds.

This proves that I am an emotional patriot... and I'm bitter and temperamental.
I've lived racism when I lived in Australia. I was hit with a rock just because I was Asian. I saw how foreigners here in Manila treat Filipinas. I experienced it firsthand. I've been called an "amah" in Hong Kong. I've been called a "gold digging, social climbing, whore" by Caucasians. I've even been a victim of prejudice here in my own country.
Is this the stereotype I'm allowing my daughters to have? Is this how I want the entire world to see me as a Filipino?
