Who's bringing the bacon home now?
We all knew this was going to happen. It only took 2000 years for it to finally happen. (I meant that sarcastically) A New York Times article claims that more men are marrying for money. Awesome. Role reversal but the bad kind.
I think we've got this all wrong. I have two sons and a daughter and the hell if I ever let them marry someone just because of convenience. This is, once again, pure gender stereotype.
Screw all this gender battle and everything else in between! It's been a long time running that women were told to be submissive and tolerant; that if you were independent, strong willed, etc., you will never land a man. Why should I dumb myself down for a partner? If I were to do that then the dude isn't really worth it, now is he? I'm not about to settle for someone who won't pull his weight either. I want a partner - my equal.
My favorite part of the article was this:
her best friend, a man, told her once: “ ‘You are confident, have good credit, own your own business, travel around the world and are self-sufficient. What man is going to want you?’ He laughed, but I found that pretty depressing.”
Wow. That's really depressing...for the guys, not us.
