The moment you realize who you truly are can either be the happiest or the most disturbing moment of your life - Pablo Neruda

The question that begs to be asked here is not "Who do you think you are?" but rather "When will I truly know?"

The journey to self discovery isn't exactly like a trip to the closest 7-11. We can spend years figuring out who we truly are. We find ourselves and lose the idea along the way because we're blocked by denials and pretensions. Denial is the mother of repression - that we tend to put certain emotions, ideas and experiences on the choke hold because we assume they are "real" and they are the horrible truths and realities. However, these things that we repress do not exist in a social vacuum. They exist within a spiderweb of social circles, within each other's lives. So, simply said, we make each other's truths. We validate each other's understanding of who we are and what we are.

I'd like to think I know who I am. Most people might call me a hypocrite, a conniving deceiving and manipulative bitch. Others would call me the opposite. Still, others would not even breathe the same air. Others choose to make me invisible or non existent in their heads.

I'll let you in on a secret... I'm exactly who you think I am.
