And this little piggy decided to start a pandemic all over the world and enabled a huge pharma company to act on bioterrorism!

An article was sent to me and I've managed to read through it with a fair amount of open mindedness and impartial judgment.

One, I think it's something to definitely consider judging from the credentials of the accuser. Jane Burgermeister is not a random crazy floozy. She is distinguished and is also an accomplished writer in the field of global climate change, biotechnology and ecology. You can't just chalk it up as some conspiracy theory because there is that semblance of credibility on the accuser's part.

However, methinks that someone has been watching too many Hollywood films.

I'm not medically inclined nor am I well versed in biotechnology. The closest I can get to that is feeling hot when it's Summer and cold when it freaking rains - that's about as extensive as I can get, so whatever verbal garbage I spew should not in any way, shape or form change or mold the reader's opinions. But I'm still saying them anyway...

It's inevitable to find certain viruses and bacteria mutating. If you believe in evolution and human development, physiologically speaking of course, then why is it hard to understand that hey, shit happens - this time shit happened in the form of a flu virus called A H1N1.

It's easy to accuse corporations about botched vaccines to make ginormous amounts of money. It's so easy to point fingers and throw blame everywhere. Why not? I mean, it's possible, isn't it? But isn't it also possible that since AH1N1 is a fairly new mutated virus, initial vaccine tests are experimental and aren't perfectly developed? I mean, it's ideal, sure but nobody gets a perfect result on the first experiment.

I'm probably the most jaded person there is in the world. I've raised paranoia into a freaking art form and I'm being considered the replacement for the disciple Thomas when it comes to doubting. I guess I just want to believe that the pharmaceutical companies are out there to doing what they've intended to do in the first place: Help People.

Besides, everything's "alleged" until there's solid verifiable proof.

In my opinion, it highlights the shortfallings of the governments involved.
It could well be that she is claiming these things because it is the only way to show how incompetent the governments have been.
In the light of this, it is hard to say that the governments have pro actively been doing something to prevent the spread.
The fact of the matter is that the governments seem to have been doing everything they can to ensure the spread of the virus and the associated panic amongst the population.
Is it possible that the government are so incompetent that they have managed to successfully pull off what all the conspiracy nuts have been warning us about? Is this just chance, or a well planned operation? How would we tell the difference.
These are all questions we should be aware of. I initially posted the article to ask these exact questions.

Thank you for linking to us, we do not get many due to the profanity in our domain. I chose this domain because it was a phrase that came to mind everytime I saw the news.

Hey, I'm cool with profanity. It's the color to an otherwise dreary verbal diarrhea. ;-)

I can't say anything about other country's government but I sure can say a mouthful about my country's current one, but most of them are not pleasant.

I'm a firm believer that everything now should be privatized and turned into a corporation - with public trading! That way, we can at least be honest enough to say that all we're after is freaking profit. This way, we, as citizens (paying citizens at that), can complain and be treated accordingly and not just be shoved under a rug like dust kitties. This also gives us the option boycott their product if and when they don't improve.

But if wishes were possible, I'd already have a pony and Jared Padalecki naked on my bed.

Thanks for commenting and I raise my fist in the air for you and your site!

Big business is like a building with no foundation. As the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, it leaves a void.
This causes the business to collapse.

The government relapsed finance laws, the end result being that now the gov owns almost all major banks. But no one investigates it. MP's use tax payers money for their own benefit. If that were you or I working for a company and using our expense account to do up our house, we would have been sacked and arrested.

There is a definite divide between us (the people) and them (the enforcers).

But the big question is "what can we do?"

Have you noticed how many countries have suddenly had "Democratic Elections" since Sept 11th 2001? Whats up with that?

People do not want to ask questions. Ignorance is bliss. There are times I wish I never started looking into this.

Democracy is an ideal, a facade, a wonderful word to overuse when you want other people to feel good about the crappy fuck up job you're doing. Like getting their opinion actually makes it all better - what it does is just get the other person's opinion and then pfft! I like democracy; I like it in its truest undiluted form - not this homogenized quasi-democracy a lot of leaders are talking about.

However, I must disagree with you when you state that people do not want to ask questions. They do. The problem is either they don't ask the right ones, they refuse to take on the responsibility that comes with asking the question OR they outright deny the answer to the question if the answer is not to their liking.

What can we do? It's impossible to do something on a large scale. We may think we're the shit but we sure as fuck ain't god. We take it one step at a time, with one small act. We do it because we know it's the right thing to do and not because we're being fueled by some delusion of global rescue. And, we do it without any trace of cynicism.

But...that's just me shooting the shit...*shrug*
