Change the world
As some of you would attest, I am not a fan of resolutions. My point is, why do it when you're not going to follow through anyway. And yes, I can hear you say "But, I'll follow through!" or "You can't judge me!" Bull crap.
However, my Kuya D said that if you want to follow through with a resolution, start small. I can do that. I can do insignificantly small... Call me a hypocrite but I thought about a lot of things when Kuya D was here.
He said that we can definitely change even if we have been infinitely damned, if we want to, we can. It's very Zen and Buddhist-ish but fuck, it makes a lot of sense. I've decided to make certain changes in my life. I'll start small and then try to move up the ladder a little bit. Think like the tortoise - slow but steady and unwavering.

I'm not making any promises but I promise to try. With that said, I present the Devil's Resolutions 2009 version:
1. I will try very hard to bite my tongue and hold my thoughts until I've proven that they're benign. I will start by meditating for a minute a day for a week, then longer for every week that passes. No, meditation while in the crapper does not count.
2. I will try to attract better karma. I have no idea how exactly to do this but I'm in the thinking stage, so I'll get there eventually.
3. I will try to chase my own dreams - or at least get halfway. Research is the first step, writing a manuscript is the next one.
4. I'll try to be a better wife and mom. Again, no idea how to do this but I am writing stuff down.
5. I'll try to find new hobbies/activities. Or at least improve on my current ones. Maybe I can start a business with them too...
***
Now it's on virtual paper and with the whole world to see it, I'm going to hold myself accountable and I am giving you the right to ask and impose on me if I have been keeping my resolutions.
I hope I don't regret this....
