Is there such a thing as type?
There was this man who once told me "You are so my type". Of course, being the idiot that I was then, I had to ask him what that "type" was.
"You know...petite, long hair [had long hair then], and a feisty personality"
There you go ladies and gents, my entire persona was summarized and encapsuled in three descriptive phrases.

I have this thing when a person starts saying "Well, I'm the type who - insert whatever inane comment here that will most definitely become a monologue -..."
Why not just say you are so and so or that you do so and so? Why is it of importance that you belong to a particular type?

I used to think that labeling or at least categorizing things would make life so easy. It doesn't. Labels and categories limit you. It's like giving yourself a death sentence.
I don't want to be the type. I should be beyond the type! "Types" should never define who I am.
Why then is everyone else trying to put me in a "type"?
***
As another unmentionable once said about me "You're so histrionic"
The said person also said that I'm kind, compassionate, crazy, sex starved, a bitch (never disagreed to it), manipulative, loyal and traitorous. I hardly think any of those adjectives fall in just one category nor should it be used to describe one and the same person.
In retrospect, I actually appreciate what aforementioned unmentionable said. At least she admits that I never fall into just one category.
