All we need is some positivity

These days I find the lack of faith in other human beings disturbing. I am one of those millions who complain about how kids nowadays have no respect and how they don't know which side of good they belong to.

However, I've seen things that may curl your toes. Just this week, in my long and lonely commute, I've found myself standing in buses for more than 8 times. I was lucky enough to be in the same bus as kids with manners and men who still live chivalrously (is that even a word?) These kids and men gave up their seats for me. And no... I was not wearing anything skimpy nor did I look pregnant.

I commended these kids and men in public with a very loud voice. I told them that they are a dying breed and that their parents taught them well. Of course I earned a stare and a weird look or two. I didn't fucking care. I wanted to make sure these kids and men know that they're appreciated

But do we have to do that? Are we going to be nice and kind just because we're waiting for some praise? Can we just do it because we want to do it?

I went to Quiapo today to purchase some beads. On the jeep I was in, the driver was berating an old man for not paying the correct fare. The old man showed his ssenior citizen ID and said he paid enough. The driver was insistent that he pay an additional 9 pesos.

I was pissed off with the driver. I mean, cut the old man some slack. I forked over the money and told him that I was paying for the old man. The driver looked at me and said in the most annoying voice "Di bale na lang!"

I insisted and told him I was paying so he shouldn't complain. The old man looked at me and thanked me. I told him it was nothing.

I had thoughts of murder for the fucking driver.

Maybe we should live as Buddhists. We should live and breathe the karma law.
