En Garde!

Posted by The Red Devil on Thursday, July 12, 2007 in , , , ,

Saw the latest Harry Potter movie yesterday with hubby. These are the perks of a stay at home mom with a hubby on the night shift - MOVIES!

Anyway, we saw it yesterday and it was amazing! I think this is my favorite HP movie so far. they've made some changes, naturally, and veered away from some of the book's plot.

What really stuck in my head was that final battle scene between Voldie and Dumbledore. You could see that they really were the two most powerful wizards in the history of wizardkind.

I'm not putting any more comments. You might want to kill me.

I hate people watching certain kinds of movies because they think it's the cool thing to do. Like watching a movie would improve your social status, sure. Take for example indie films - most people watch it because they think that if they do, they'd be part of the clique - the artsy fartsy, deep, artistic and poignant group. Newsflash! You're not. You watch a couple of Miras' and Dalena's doesn't mean you're suddenly Kidlat Tahimik. Gamitin pa natin ang mga totoong artists, hindot ka.
I also hate people who flash labeled outfits, bags and shoes. Owehnonaman ngayon kung naka Jimmy Choos ka? Parang luya pa din ang mga toes mo.
It's not the threads. It's not the group you're with. Fuck, it's not even what you project. It's how comfortable you are with yourself. Who the fuck cares if you can't understand indie films? Who the fuck cares if you only have Secosana as a bag? If they do care, they maybe they're just too shallow. You don't want that.

One more thing I hate would be those asshole conductors in buses and cashiers in department stores asking if you've got change. I ride this bus to the mall, right? Then I realize I don't have any coins or change on me. All I have is 500 pesos. I fork it over the conductor and he looks at me like I have leprosy.
"Wala ka bang barya?" (Don't you have any change?)
"Wala po eh." (Nope.)
"Wala kang barya? Ang aga aga wala kang barya!" (You don't have change? This early in the morning and you don't have change?!)
"If it were a prerequisite for life to have change readily available in my purse, I'd be more than willing to do so, however, it is not my job to give you change. It's my job to give you money - the fare, you overgrown and unhygienic buffoon. If I had change, don't you think I would've given it to you? Didn't you stop to think about that? Wala akong barya! Wala, wala, WALA!" (I don't have change. I don't, I don't, I DON'T!)
That was the time that the old lady behind me gave the conductor 10 pesos for my fare. I turn around to thank her and she says "No, thank you. I've always wanted to do that."
I see myself 20 years from now.
Ayelavit.

naks na-example pa ako yiii...

mas nakakainis yung mga kunduktor who pick their noses right before they hand you your change.. ew!

I know what you mean. People who choose to wear only brand names are brand conscious. It doesn't make them look cool, it makes them look very SUPERFICIAL! Like you said, who the hell are they tryng to impress? Certainly not themselves.
