Manners and etiquette

Let me tell you something about manners: they're basic. It's instinctive and primal. Your mother made sure you had some, otherwise, we all shall be subject to that old saying "your mother never taught you any manners, now did she?" If you have absolutely no manners, you have no mother.

You do not have to be rich to have manners. Even destitute people have manners - REAL manners, mind you. It's not just about "please and thank you's" (although they're very integral) and they can't be bought. Besides, what kind of idiot buys manners? It's about how you were brought up.

Which brings me to the word: JOLOGS. Let me define jologs - adj., slang, Filipino in origin, pronounced as syllabic as possible. It means someone who is in tune to the masses' tastes; someone who can be labeled as cheesy; a derogatory term meaning someone who is of low class or of poor economic standing. Now, there is nothing there that would state that someone described as jologs could be without manners. Copongcopong's Pinoy slang dictionary defines jologs as such: jologs: a word to describe a cheap person skwaking. di maganda pumorma ng damit. baduy. pangit o bakya ang taste.
halimbawa: Ba't ba ang jologs-jologs ng taste mo?
See any line that says ill-mannered?

This is the reason why it's considered ill-mannered to diss someone on the internet just to make yourself look better. Playing the victim card is sooo ill-mannered. Be careful of the spotlight you so crave, it shows more than what you'd want others to see. It's bad manners to judge someone immediately but refuse to be judged. It's positively disgusting to claim injury when you've done injury to others yourself. AND IT'S ABSOLUTELY ABHORRING TO USE YOUR CHILDREN AS SCAPEGOATS FOR YOUR OWN GAIN!!!

****

You want to play the victim?

Let me play the part of the villain first - I've been known to play it well.

Let's go.

I dare you.

I have nothing to fear because I have nothing to hide.

How's your closet?
