Scary Flashbacks

Told you I was a walking premonition!

We're having our high school reunion next Thursday and it's 14 years after we've graduated. It's actually more of a mix of grade school and high school people.

Osang, Rita, Jason and I will be going. If only to see who's coming too. If we don't like the affair, we'll split and do something else.

"Naman! Parang di ka sanay, eh gawain natin ito. Remember our junior prom? Nakikain lang tayo tapos umalis na." (As if you didn't do it before! Remember our junior prom? We ate and then left) Osang bemuses.

True. We did eat and run.

I ran from my date. He's a nice guy and all but I never figured out what my teachers then thought when they paired us up. (Oh yeah, unlike in other schools where you pick your date, the teachers picked our dates in our school) Did they really think I was a nice person? Honestly, I now look at it in retrospect and wonder if it wasn't some sick gag thing where everyone had bets on how long I'd actually stay on a date with him.

I don't remember his name, but I do remember his uber long sleeved, trying to be grunge but failing miserably with a huge peace sign pendant from the 70's, super kintab shoes, fashion statement. I can't call that thing an outfit! It's a fucking statement!

I'm one to talk eh ampanget din ng outfit ng lola mo nun. I wanted a nice full skirt, sweetheart neckline, satin dress. I got the satin, but that's about it. I got a white baby doll, empire cut with a bowed ribbon belt. oiveh...

To this day, my mother has kept the only surviving photograph of that night. I reckon she put it in a safety deposit box somewhere to keep it away from my pyromanic hands. Trust me when I say I will burn that picture.

That look (from both of us) will always be the main theme for my horror movie.

Hehehe....at least you still have your picture from that night. Our first prom, my mom took a picture of me and my date, our second prom, wala na. I cam't even find that picture. We all wanted that flowing gown look but it wouldn't have looked good anyway. I do remember there was this one girl who wore a ballooning gown. For me, it did look inappropriate. Take pictures ha? Sina Romy nga were also planning a reunion for the people who live here. Pero of course, it was in L.A. at the time and I was ready to pop with baby number 4 so I really couldn't go. So I don't know if it actually pushed through.

I think when we were hanging out in PhilAm was even better than the prom. You remember we bailed after three hours and went to eat some real food!? At least there naka-inom pa tayo ng beer!

Hahaha!!! oo nga! That was hilarious! Hanging out at the soccer field of Philam was way better than any prom. Siguro ganun lang talaga ang trip natin noon.

I'll take pictures - lots!
